The Story of the Lemoneds

In the midst’s of the vast Aegean sea, there lived an isolated community called the Lemoneds. This community gathered together to create a functioning society on the island of Ikaria; disconnected and desolate from the rest of the modern world. They took refuge here long ago, discovering the island with the infamous mythological figures, Icarus and his father Daedalus, in their pursuit to leave Crete. Grief stricken by the unfortunate demise of his son Icarus, the acclaimed inventor Daedalus took to find the secret behind the fountain of youth in collaboration with the Lemoneds. This led to them to attempt to discover this for centuries, toiling desperately to perfect it, when finally they achieved in finding the secret to this mystery, carrying it out on the residents of Ikaria who demonstrated their success in the unnatural extensions of their lives – lives that span to 120-40 years old…some possibly reaching infinite lifetimes. The Lemoneds, who built up a governmental structure much like our own, with councils, presidents, ministers and so on, all decided long ago, due to their disdain for the self-destructive and unhealthy inclinations of our modern society, to keep this monumental secret limited to Ikaria. However, in 2022, dire health issues have been mounting increasingly, plaguing all parts of the globe. The Lemoneds, in observing this, have decided to no longer stay idle and as they feel is their duty in this time of emergency, have taken to the council and voted to spread the secret they have kept hidden so long, the Ikarian diet, and save the world from itself.
